Statement

I have always been an emotional person, and expressing what I feel has been an issue for me since the beginning. Drawing and painting allow me to let my sentimental side out on paper.Colors easily mix in the paper, and the sense of painting with water calms me and allows me to forget the world around me. I just have to close my eyes and feel the brush against the watercolor paper and make something beautiful out of my feelings.

 

Portraits are my favorite thing to paint, from the details of the skin to choosing the colors to express a specific emotion. Lately, I have been trying to discover my identity and where I am from. By using my ancestors and family history as inspiration, I have been creating portraits and landscapes that portrayed my Latinx decency.
